2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off Leave Planner
Optimise annual leave around a 2-days, 2-nights, 4-off repeating rota using your own cycle-start date.
Plan around the full eight-day cycle
The preset uses two day shifts, two night shifts and four rostered-off days. For leave optimisation, day and night duties both count as rostered work shifts, but the result labels them separately so you can check the suggested dates against your rota.
Why the anchor date matters
Two people on the same 2D/2N/4-off system can be on different cycle positions. Entering a known first day-shift date anchors the repeating pattern so the suggestions correspond to your own planning year rather than a generic example.
Night-shift caution
The planner is date-based. If your employer treats an overnight duty, reporting time or leave deduction differently from the calendar date shown, use the employer's roster system as the source of truth.
Use the leave balance and rota dates supplied by your employer. Work Decisions UK only models the calendar pattern you enter and does not determine employment rights, leave deductions or approval.
Optimise your actual dates
The useful part is not a generic example calendar. Your position within the repeating cycle changes the best leave dates, so the optimiser asks for one date you know is day 1 of your cycle and generates the planning year from that anchor.
